چکیده
In this paper, a new intelligent portable mechanical system is introduced experimentally and theoretically to detect damage employing the fuzzy-genetic algorithm EMD. For purpose, acceleration-time history obtained from three points of simply-supported beam utilizing accelerometer sensors. The gained signal decomposed into small components by using an EMD method. Each component contains specific frequency range. Finally, proposed designed find location severity through variation pattern among safe damaged beam.

Structural Health Monitoring Activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory
Throughout the workshop, the importance of instrumentation for bridges and dams had been pointed out numerous times. Many workshop participants seemed to agree that the recorded data provide invaluable information to assess the integrity and life safety of civil infrastructure, and help to improve the scientific understanding about the dynamic response of structures under extreme events such as...
متن کاملStructural Health Monitoring With Whirlpool
We propose a novel data delivery strategy, called Whirlpool, for efficient SHM using Wireless Sensor Networks. Whirlpool implements a rotating interrogation of a monitoring structure and provides collision-aware scheduling of the monitoring queries. The Whirlpool strategy can be tuned for the required Quality of Data (QoD). We apply Whirlpool to examine the unique properties of output signals o...

متن کاملStructural Control and Health Monitoring
A unique shape memory alloy (SMA) restrainer cable is developed and tested to evaluate its effectiveness in limiting the hinge opening in bridges. The SMA cables, connected at the deck–abutment interface, are tested on a four-span, one-quarter scale, concrete slab bridge. The bridge is subjected to a suite of ground motion to assess the performance of the SMAs under different magnitudes of load...

Control forces in semi-active control systems are constrained by the dynamics of actuators that regulate energy transmission through variable damping and/or stiffness mechanisms. The potential benefit of the development and implementation of new semi-active control devices and applications can be determined by optimizing the controlled performance subject to the constraints of the dynamics of t...
